Both the pants and jacket are made with the natural fur of the Karakul sheep. This sheep is native to Siberia and central Asia and its fur has been used for warmth since Babylonian times. It is known for its ability to survive harsh winters and its extremely thick fur. Famous soviet premiers, such as Nikita Khrushchev would often wear hats made from this material. Current Russian generals wear hats made of it in cold weather today.

The exterior of the suit is surrounded by a cotton, water-resistant camo shell to protect the fur and the wearer from the elements.
